In this virtual meal planning workshop, certified Health Coach Sara Kennedy will teach principles of meal planning to help you keep healthy dinners on your table! As a part of this workshop, participants will receive:
● Three variations of meal planning handouts
● Examples and practice using the handouts
● List of “dirty dozen” foods to avoid, and clean foods to keep in your kitchen
We will also briefly discuss the principles of traffic light eating and incorporating more green light foods into your lifestyle.
After participants have had some time to work on the basics of meal planning, we will put our new knowledge to use and have some hands-on practice! We will discuss replacing ingredients in recipes to fit dietary needs such as food allergies and family preferences, and then move onto the meal prepping portion of this workshop.
For this portion of the workshop, participants will have received 5 recipes ahead of time. This will provide time to grocery shop and buy the ingredients. We will actually prep all 5 meals together, and along the way discuss how the recipes can have different variations to switch up your meals and add a variety of flavor to your healthy dinners.
At the end of this workshop, you will have 5 prepared dinners that can be frozen, refrigerated or cooked immediately. You will feel so relaxed for the week to come knowing you have a healthy dinner waiting for your family, and new knowledge of how easy it can be to prep ahead of time, save time and money in the kitchen, and make dinners at home a family activity!
