Each of our doulas is hand selected and professionally trained by the same certifying organization to provide your family with consistent support of the highest caliber. All of our doulas carry active doula insurance and are infant CPR certified.
I have 15 years dedicated to supporting maternal and newborn care to families living in Northeast TN and beyond through both peer to peer support groups and professional services. Birthwork first sparked her interest when she was a support person for a childhood friend whose experience taught me a lot of good, and bad things. Mattie enjoys educating and empowering mothers and families during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond, because the more we all know - the better we can all do.
Michaela feels like her life has been moving toward birthwork since she was young. Connecting with, educating, and empowering people to find their voice and their truest path is what fulfills her. She’s been told many times that she is a calm presence and someone who can simplify difficult concepts to help others understand and learn.
As a mother of three, she believes every birth experience is a special moment in time, in which, each minute counts. She values that every birth story includes support and awareness.
Nellie’s passion for pregnancy, labor, and family began when she was a little girl. She has always loved nuturing new life through gardening, caring for animals, and supporting families. Birth work is her calling and she couldn’t imagine life without it. Nellie is ProDoula certified as a Labor and Postpartum Doula. She is also C.P.R. trained through The American Heart Association.
Parker is passionate about supporting and empowering women (and their partners) through pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Along with working as a doula, she is a Pilates instructor with special interest and extensive training in pre and postnatal Pilates. She loves using movement and exercise to help women ease pregnancy discomfort, reconnect with their body after birth, and feel empowered in their own skin at any stage of life. She strives to meet families where they are, with a particular focus on promoting perinatal mental health. She offers judgement-free support and encouragement for clients based on their unique family circumstance, preferences, birth plan, and parenting choices.
Long before becoming a ProDoula-certified Labor Doula, caring for families was already woven into my life. I spent three years as a nanny before becoming a pediatric nurse, where I gained hands-on experience supporting children and parents during vulnerable seasons. I entered birth work by supporting several close friends and relatives through their births and in those moments, I knew birth work was my calling and passion!

Henna finds herself drawn to working with parents during their postpartum, as a doula and postpartum placenta specialist. Her soft nature lead parents to feel calm and fully supported. Listening is one of her great skills.
While on her own journey through motherhood she found herself not only researching for her own pregnancies and births, but for friends and family as well. Chauntay soon became a source of knowledge, support, and reassurance for many families. This fueled her desire to provide support and guidance to those parents' own journey as a doula
April believes that women have been created for this great task of childbirth, and she is committed to continuing to serve women and families as they embark upon this incredible, transformative journey to becoming a parent.
Gracie is a both a biological and foster mom to three little boys. She has always loved children, but after having her own boys and welcoming many others into her home through the foster care system, she became very passionate about assisting others in the incredibly beautiful experience that is bringing life into this world.
Jessica is a mother to a sweet, little rambunctious boy. She has been supporting parents as a breastfeeding specialist for the last 3 years and have added certifications as a labor doula, postpartum doula, and placenta encapsulation specialist to provide clients with a full spectrum of support.
Kendall’s passion for birth work began after the birth of her first child, inspiring her to support women as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Shivonne is so excited and honored to bring all of her wonderful qualities to be with you on your birthing journey.
She loves to help parents know what to expect and to ensure they have continuous support and access to resources throughout their journey.
Lis began supporting families to hold sacred this great transition through doula work, placenta encapsulation, and prenatal yoga. Lis lends a willing hand, non-judgemental ear, and open heart to all families post-birth. She is passionate about pre and postnatal mental health, and continuously studying this field to best serve women in the childbearing years.
Ysabel is a certified ProDoula Labor Doula, Sound and Music certification, experience leading music therapy sessions, and is completing a degree in Expressive Arts and Mental Health. She is passionate about women’s empowerment, mental health, energy work, and the arts.
Hailing from Abingdon, VA Randi Lynn Denton is excited to be part of the High Country Doula team and helping families across the region settle into expanding their families. Certified in Labor and Postpartum care, she can also bring a holistic approach to your experience having been certified in other numerous, natural-healing fields.
Her doula journey is rooted in community care; Angela became interested in becoming a doula when she saw the growing need for perinatal support in our communities. She knows how valuable it is to have an additional support person to offer consistent emotional, physical and informational support to parents during this time of growth.
In 2011 Hope completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Neighborhood Yoga. She studied prenatal and postnatal yoga at the Asheville Yoga Center. She believes yoga calms the busy mind, preparing it to be free from fluctuations so that our intentions are from an open heart and open mind. Her calling is to offer movement that sustains the body, mind and spirit.
